-Went to Damascus, did not meet any fellow travelers on the way maybe next time. On the way back we threw some pennies in a wishing well for prosperity, and love.
(the love of Christ of course)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyone, here are some things that I love to learn over and over again!
That the Church Is True
It never gets old
I never just get used to it, I never feel that I don't need anymore experiences to tell me that it is; I am just as joyous each time it is reaffirmed to me that Jesus Christ restored His gospel and saving ordinances along with the power necessary to perform them, and that those things are here in the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Another thing that I love to learn over and over again--
That God is deeply aware of each of us at any given moment. That He knows what we need, and His son provided ALL that we need that we might accept it and become all that we can.
He knows and loves us perfectly. Jesus felt how we feel every minute, every second, of every day. When we feel alone, all we need to do is pray until we feel otherwise.
We had so many miracles happen this week
(do I say that every week?)
One that is fresh because we taught the lesson this morning has to do with Amber
Long story short--President Sumrall was going to visit a less active who's father was visiting him and the father is a former investigator. We met him last night and he is super excited to take the lessons, he invited his sons fiance over to hear them as well and that sons fiance whom we met this morning to teach them both is Amber:) They have booth committed to read the Book of Mormon, pray, come to church, and be baptized on September 2nd!
Did you catch all that?
Well this morning at the lesson she said she was nervous and didn't know what to do.
She is so sweet; we simply told her about what we do and what we will invite her to do.
As Sister Palmer ended the opening prayer, Amber looked up with tears streaming down her face.
She began to blame the weather and exhaustion, but we just waited as the Spirit continued to fill our hearts <3
She finally said, "I'm just so ready to live a good life"
and wept some more.
From the opening prayer she felt the Spirit, and the rest of the lesson only got better and better!
"See, I was told ya'll Mormons worship Joseph Smith, but it's not that way!! Of course we would have to have a prophet to practice the religion of Jesus Christ. It just makes sense. Ya'll don't worship Joseph Smith, you worship God the way that God tells you too, because He told you how to through a prophet."
-Amber
Please pray for her. She has been through a lot.
Her fiance's dad is also planning on being baptized the same day, he kept commenting that he felt the same way he did the first time Elders spoke with him. He knows it's true because of the Spirit, and he knows it isn't us the missionaries, but God speaking through us.
Because it's prep day, we are going over to Curtis and Rachel's today to play games and watch Meet the Mormons which will be a treat. Love them.
We have had some very powerful moments with them this passed week about change, the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and having hope for a better world.
I've learned so much.. there are way too many things to get out here but they are safely in my journal so that if I ever get dementia I can read the miracle that is my mission. I love it ya'll seriously. I LOVE THIS LIFE
Have you ever thought about serving a mission? Do it! Word of advice:
Missions Are Hell
seriously ya'll I'm not finna lie to you
but just like
for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction
we have to go through Hell to taste Heaven
and let me tell you something about tasting Heaven
every day is a spiritual FEAST
that I could not even begin to enjoy without the fight of Hell
GIVE 'EM HEAVEN
Among other things
these moments happened since we last spoke
{spoke meaning, you read my words on a screen}
-Diane has her temple recommend. OH MY HEART HOW IT EXLAIMETH OF JOY and her granddaughter sat in on a lesson about the Plan of Salvation, and gave a closing prayer that was absolutely beautiful two days later after another lesson.
Diane also has been extended a calling, but that is on the DL because she hasn't been sustained so (shhhh) ;) she has accepted and we are so excited for her
-It got brought up that I am going home soon to the cute old ladies we do devotional for at an assisted living home, and they asked me what my future plans are but before I could answer they all started in on telling me that they have to "proofread" Mr. Right and let me know if there are any red flags when that day comes. LOL love them.
-Sue seriously and jokingly stated that she just wants her rich ex husband to die already because she wants his money, but he promises her that he plans on out living her so that she won't get one single cent
-The Crains "demon dog" peed all over the place right before we came, so when we got there we heard many stories about this issue. When the dog gets mad because she hasn't had attention like she wants, she looks at you dead in the eye and just pees on you. One time she even peed like that right on Kat, stopped mid pee, and hopped over to the other couch, and peed on Peggy at that same moment.
-Johnny (Rhodas husband not Johnny the singer) has informed me that he is indeed packing his clothes to come back to Utah with me. I told him not to bother because I'M NOT GOING HOME YET smh. Everyone is way to trunky, I refuse to let it spread to me. That's why I wear my name tag while I sleep now. Keeping those trunky bugs away.
-Rachel video recorded herself pouring hydrogen peroxide into the wound that she acquired falling into a hole in their front room. This gash is very large, very deep, and there were a lot of bubbles. She recorded it to show me, at my request. Why? Who doesn't love to watch stuff bubble up on other infected stuff.
-We received a call early on in the week that Sister M was reassigned, no idea why, but it was before we even left to go to the transfer meeting place. So Sister Palmer and I are sticking together in good old Brewton, Alabama which I am very grateful and happy about.
Make it a great day!
Sister Saunders
