does my strength come from the mountains?
no
My strength comes from God who made Heaven and Earth and the mountains"
He also made me/us
out of the same stuff that He made the heavens and the mountains
therefore I can be heavenly and strong
Like the Heavens and the Mountains
"Jesus Christ is my rest
my rescue
I don't have to see to believe that He's lifting me up on His shoulders"
(For King and Country)
Hey Ya'll
I learned some things this week
-some things about repentance and myself.
Well it has been another wonderful miracle filled week here in the Brewton, Alabama area in the Milton District in the Pensacola Stake/Zone of the Florida Tallahassee Mission!
I don't remember if I talked about this when it happened, but a couple of months ago we were going to an appointment and saw a lady and a young guy standing outside just up the road so we started to walk towards them. As we did they nonchalantly saw us and casually parted ways. The lady went inside and the guy started walking to his truck.
He was about to reach it which would have meant driving away and we would never get to tell him about the gospel...
despite our attempts at a speed walk to catch up and even a light jog, we were not close enough
so I yelled at him
okay that sounds a bit irrational
I yelled TO him
yep. much better.
"HI!!"
nothing
so I tried again
"HEY!! I know you heard me!"
He turned around and said, "What?" very innocently but after I raised my eyebrow he laughed and said,
"Can I help you?"
Great. My favorite thing ever.
When people ask us that I want to say
"NO BUT WE CAN HELP YOU COME UNTO CHRIST AND HAVE ETERNAL SALVATION AND JOY beyond your wildest dreams."
but I don't
Now all caught up to him, we started telling him who we are and what we do, he said that we probably wouldn't be able to help him because he is not very religious.
We asked him about that and he said it is because he has too many unanswered questions.
Brilliant, we actually try by the spirit to answer questions of the soul of others and ourselves all day everyday we love it and it's the best.
He asked us this one
"Where did God come from?"
Basically this guy is golden right? so we give him our number but his phone was broken the day before so we didn't have his
he mentioned the road he lives on
we left
We have planed many times to go to his road and tract because he hasn't called us but something always comes up.
Well it's been a couple of months and yesterday after Skyping our families we saw that we had a missed call and a voicemail
IT WAS DAKOTA
he said
"Hey sisters this is Dakota, you stopped me in the street one day and told me to write down all my questions for ya. I wrote down a lot of questions for you guys and I was hoping we could get together on a meet day or something. Thank ya'll, okay. bye."
We flipped. We were screaming we are so happy. He is a real investigator.
He is a searcher of truth and that means he is ready to receive it.
Pray for Dakota and us that we will have utterance of the Spirit and preparation necessary this week to answer his questions. We called him back and we are meeting him at the library on Saturday.
The Lord is so merciful.
Speaking of the fam, it was so good to see ya'll.
I hope dad is getting better, I'm sorry to hear he is so hurt.
I hope all of you mothers and especially my own, had a wonderful Mothers Day that treated you well. I hope your kids told you why they love you, and I hope you feel the Spirit testify to you that you are so special and of infinite worth in the divine role you have to help our Father in Heaven bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man of all kinds everywhere!
There were ten occupations that were put together and studied under the realm of motherhood to see how much a mother is worth
they calculated the hours, the occupations and the money they would earn
between:
nurse
day care/teacher
cook
laundry operator
executive operator
psychologist
computer worker
housekeeper
car driver
the monetary value of these hours and jobs per year amounts to
$123,000
ten attributes that a mother possesses in a spiritual sense are
faithful
charity
diligent
intelligent
hope
strong
persevering
hard working
kind
obedient
in short
Christ Like
the worth:
priceless
Thank you mom for wiping my face when I was little, my tears no matter how old, and the tables so that I don't have to have nasty sticky remnants of food on my arms when I eat dinner.
Heaven knows how much I detest sticky stuff.
;)
Updates on Dianne: She is awesome and so ready for her baptism coming up in about two weeks.
We were worried this week to teach her the word of wisdom knowing beforehand that she loves coffee.
As we taught she said
"Well it looks like this is something I will have to obey. It won't be hard. I can do it."
As it turns out she used to drink about four cups a day, and for no apparent reason she just started to stop months ago and now she drinks one every once in a while.
coincidence? No.
She is awesome.
Update on Wayne:
Well, he called us the other day and told us that he met someone we knew. He called her crazy, and told us not to go back to that particular investigator (who I won't name) because two people that she lives with are accomplices to murder, and probably killers themselves but the system is pretty wrecked in this area. Not enough staff for more prisoners and not enough policeman to enforce what needs to be enforced.
Sad.. but all will work out.
We explained to him that we had stopped going by there a long time ago because we felt warned against it by the Spirit. Now we know why.
Thoughts on Repentance
I was studying the story of the unnamed woman that wiped the Saviors feet with her tears and cleaned them with her hair then anointed him with oil.
He forgave her and she left, she may have been part of the group of women that were there when he was on the cross, but if she was it isn't mentioned.
Then there is Mary, his friend whom he cast out seven devils and healed her. She never left. She was there the whole time, she walked with Him, and she was the first to see him as a resurrected being.
What an honor that was and still is.
Both of these had need of the power of Jesus Christ, but one stood with Him for the rest of his Earthly life.
We all stand in need of repentance and enabling power as we walk the roads of our life.
It is our choice whether or not we seek Him.
But when we have sought Him out, and have been forgiven or healed, we have another choice to make.
Whether or not we will tarry with Him.
Walk With Him.
John 2:4-6
Repentance is not a stepping stone to God Through Christ,
it is a continuous Pathway to Godliness WITH Christ.
it is a continuous Pathway to Godliness WITH Christ.
I love you all, and wish you a wonderful Spirit filled week.
Make it a great day :)

ps
Sister Fast is the worst companion ever. She drives me up the wall
(I hear you get transferred when you openly admit how much you love your companion and how much it would break your heart if they left so that was just a precaution as transfers approach;)
